During the war I was in
jured in the stomach by a piece
of a shell, and have suffered
fromitevcrsince. About four
years ago it brought on paraly
sis, which kept me in bed six
months, and the best doctors
in the city said I could not
live I suffered fearfully from
indigestion, and for over two
years could not cat solid food
and for a large portion of the
time was unable to retain even
liquid nourishment. I tried
Brown's Iron Bitters and now
after taking two bottles I am
able to get up ana go around
and am rapidly improving.

Mr. BEEcnER is the latest dis
tinguished clergyman who has
given his views on the interesting
subject of divorce. He agrees
with nearly all who have spoken
on the subject in condemning the
alarming laxity of the courts in j
granting separations for trifling
causes, and very often for no cause
at all. "The sanctit of the fam
ily," he says, "is the hope of the
world." At the same time he
thinks that divorce should be
granted on other than the scriptural
ground of adultery. Drunkenness,
he believes, ought to be a just
cause; also cruelly, notorijus cor
ruption and conviction for the com
mission of a criminal oflViiue. Mr.
Beechcr should be :i little more
precise when he specifies unotori-
ous corruption. It he means
"political corruption," and his the
ories were to go into ellect, thou
sands and tens of thousands of
happy homes would be broken up
all over the countrv within the
next ninetv davs. To be con
vinced of this, it is only necessary
to read the partisan newspapers.
One set is constantly screaming at
the other that the rival office-hold
ers and office-seekers are the mon
umental rascals of the time. Here
is "notorious currupiio:iM enough
to keep the divorce courts busy for
years.
The new post.il notes are win
ing more and more into use, and
the postoffice authorities believe
that nearly 4,000,000 of them, rep
resenting an exchange of perhaps
10,000,000, will be used.
Grizzlies have proved so de
