Vindicator says that when you meet a genuine Bour bon Democrat you will meet an honest man and high-toned gen tleman. O, yes, we havo heard all about such things before. There is a man up in Arkansas who claims that when you meet a florid face man you will find concealed under his cuticle a gentleman and a scholar. This is merely an at tempt to bull the rol-nose mar ket. And, no doubt, if a man with a big wart on his chin, with hair croppintr out of it, should happiin to locate in Crosby county, and the editor of Use Cruaby County Clarion and FarmcrVindicaior should suspect that there was a chance to get a subscription from him, the paper would issue an ex tra and say that a man with a hair wart on his chin always carried a style and imprcssiveness about which emphatically stamped him as of high tone and blue blood. The country is full of this Cros by County Clarion and Warmers' YintlictUor style of editor. There is one of them up in New York state who says that small foot on a woman indicates a temper like cayenne pepper, and x tongue that will lie about her be?t friends. The object of this oditor is to se cure the everlasting affections of a cer.tain woman with big feet and a bank account to match. O, yes, the3 all do it. The defences of Canton are be ing actively pushed forward. Large quantities of arms and ammunition are being conveyed to that city in Chinese gunboats. An immediate attack on Chinese ports is not generally expected. It is thought that for some time to come the fighting will bo confined Tonquiu, but it seems inevitable that hostilities will eventually ex tend to China. It is thought the French reverses in Tonquiu will be fraught with serious results to foreigners in China. Advices from the interior show that politi cal excitement is spreading. The authority of the imperial govern ment is much weakened in man districts, and a wave ot anti-foreign feeling is passing over the country. k Whtiauiud reuul center u MILL FEED.
