The blood is the foundation of
Kfe, it circulates through every part
of the body, and unless it is pure
and rich, good health is impossible.
If disease has entered the system
the only ture and quick way to drive
it out is to purify and enrich the
blood.
These simple facts are well
known, and the highest medical
authorities agree that nctJting but
iron will restore the blood to its
natural condition; and also that
all the iron preparations hitherto
made blacken the teeth, causehead
ache, and are otherwise injurious.
Brown'sIeon Bitters will thor
oughly and quickly assimilate with
the blood, purifying and strengthen
ing it, and thus drive disease from
any part of the system, and it will
not blacken the teeth, cause head
ache or constipation, and is posi
tively not injurious.

Gents: Upon the recommenda
tion of a fnead I tried Brown's
Icon Birrsss SJ a. tonic &nd re
storative tor xar daughter, whom
I yni thoroughly convinced was
waiting away with Consumption.
Having lost three daughters by the
terrible disease, under the care of
eminent physicians, I was loth to
believe that anything could arrest
the progress ol the disease, but, to
xny great surprise, before my daugh.
ter had taken one bottle of BaowKt
Isoh BrrrxKS, she began to mend
and stow is quite restored to former
health. A fifth daughter began to
show signs of Consumption, and
when the physician was consulted
be quickly said "Tonics were -
a ulred ; and waen informed that
le elder sister was taking Brown's
Iron Bxttxks, responded "that is
a good tonic, take it."
The rapid progress British India
is making in the production and
exportation of wheat has recently
been brought to notice by tho last
report of our consul-general at
Calcutta. It appears that about
20,000,000 acres are now devoted
to wheat culture in India, with an
estimated annual yield of consid
erably over 200,000,000 bushels,
of which, last year, 37,000,000
bushels were exported. The
wheat fields of America may have
in, r.ngJand s India provinces a
competitor in the European mar
ket which will compel farmers to
employ every means to cheapen
production and railways to reduce
the cost of transportation to retain
their hold upon th foreign de
mand. With its outspreading
system of railways, already about
,000 miles in length, with navi
gation of the Ganges for steamers
now extended to Cawnpore, with
canal 050 miles long, making
navigation possible l.JUU miles
from the sea. the farmers of
Northern India will soon have
ample cheap transportation facili
ties to enable them to tret their
surplus wheat into the European
market. If with these advantages,
and a climate not subject to ex
tremes of cold, the rude methods
of Indian agriculture were re
placed by a more modern system,
India could easily become a form-
dable competitor with America in
the world's wheat market.

There were plasters with holes in them lone
before BENSON'S CAPCINE POROUS
PLASTER surprised both tbo public and the
physicians ; and tho triumph of tho Cnpcino
is founded upon tho partial successes, or th
utter failures of its predecessors. Everything
of value in tho old porous plaster U retained
in the Capcine; but at this point all compari
son ends, and contrast begins. For example
Tho old plasters were slow in their action
the Capcino is quick and sure.
The old plasters lacked tho power to do
more than to impart slight, temporary relief
in cases easy of treatment; the Capcino pene
trates the system and permanently cures th
troubles for which it Is recommended.
Tho. old plasters depended for any good re
sults they might attain, upon an accident of
their makers and the naked faith of their
wearers; tho Benson's reaches its ends by
means oftho scientific combination of tho rare
medicinal ingredients which its contains.
In brief, tho old plasters, like Stophcnson'
discarded engine, are switched off the track
while tho Benson's goes on its way winning
golden opinions from all sorts of people.
Yet in this very fact lies the leading danger
to the people who buy and uso this roliablo
