Brown's Iron Bitters
is one of the very few tonic
. medicines that are not com

whiskey, thus becoming a
fruitful source of intemper

for rum.
Brown's Iron Bitters
is guaranteed to be a non
intoxicating stimulant, and
it will, in nearly every case,
take the place of all liquor,
and at the same time abso

whiskey and other intoxi

Rev. G. W. Rice, editor oi

A Milwaukee special of the 21st
says: W. F. Dalrymple, the
Dakota wheat king, is in the city.
In conversation with a reporter
Mr. Dairymple said it was his be
lief that the current year will be
profitable to the wheat growers of
in the northwest. In Dakota, he
says, an enormous crop of spring
wheat has been planted, the acre
age sown in the territory being at
least 50 per cent greater than last
year. The harvest prospects now
he Dronounces as better than at
this time last year, and an increase
in the average yield per acre will
not surprise him. "Within the
past few weeks he has passed
through a large part of Dakota,
Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and he
states that the condition of spring
wheat generally is yery good. As
to the outlook for prices, he thinks
it is encouraging to growers.
Philip Ritz of Walla Walla,
from a tour of Eastern Oregon
and "Washington Territory esti
mates that the wheat is damaged
about 10 per cent by reason of
the continued heat and no rain
this month. About three-fourths
of the wheat will be slightly
shriveled. lie thinks that the ex
ports this year will be somewhat
in access of last year's, but it will
be from 20 to 30 per cent, lower
than the early estimates. In the
"Willamette valley about SO per
cent, of the crop is spring sown
and most of the wheat can stand
two more weeks of dry weather
without any serious injury.
In the Monte Building, Lari
mer street, Denver, Col., is lo
cated the office of Mr. F. A. Park,
extensively engaged in coal min
ing. In Mr. Park's opinion, St.
Jacobs Oil is an exceedingly val
uable article for rheumatism. His
wife suffered with a very painful
affection, which finally required
the use of an external remedy.
Deciding upon St. Jacobs Oil, she
used it with such gratifying suc
cess that she would not be without
it for any thin jr, and considers it a
household panacea.

While Wrestling With s Fallen
Tree a Ijurabermaa .Receives
Consequential Damages
While on a hunting excursion in tho great
coal and wood region near Carbondale. Pa.,
the writer met William Coil, 1 lumberman.
Accustomed to lifo and labor in the lorest
from early manhood, he was a true Knight of
tho Axe. Many a tree had fallen before his
ringing strokes, and fleets of rafts had borne
away to market the sawed products. Coil is a
character, and if Oscar Wilde is right in say
ing that all movements in unhindered labor
are graceful, our friend William, stripped for
his work, and attacking a tree as Bichard I.
assaulted tho heavy doors of Front de Beefs
Castle, must have presented an admirable
picture.
One day, however, but lot him tell the
story himself, as he told it to me.
"In was out in the woods, you know, trying
to start a log down a hill. Thinking I could
get c better purchase on it from the lower side
I tackled it there with my log-rolling hook
and threw my weight on the lerer. She start
ed, sho did, but as luck would hare it, before
I could get out of the way, shy rolled right
over me. If it hadn't been for a lot of small
limbs and brush lying in the road, which lift
ed her up. sbo'd a crushed me Eat. As it was
I got up without a broken bono, but with
some mighty bad bruises.'.
"Then you were all right," said his auditor.
"2f ot by a blamed sight, stranger. 1 took
cold, rheumatism set in. and if I hadn't heard
of BEXSOX'5 CAPCINE POROUS PLAS
TERS and used 'em, its my opinion I should
never hare made another chip fly. But tho
Capcine took hold qui:k, and Va 'bout as
good as new. But there's one thing you kin
calkilate on : I never shall wrastle with an
other log unless I have the advantage of the
ground. Fur, as I told you before, if it hadn't
been for them brashes I'd been smashed so,
you could 'a sold me for a door mat."
The Capclne is the thing for rheumatism.
It doesn't keep you waitiag. The word CAP-
CINEkcur in the center of the genuine.
