Return of General Crook.
Undor dato of Juno 11th, a
Tonibatono, Arizona, dispatch says'
a young aon of Sergeant Ham
Smith arrived from Chiricahuas
thin morning, bringing imforma
tion to tho JSpitaph that Crook
had returned from his expedition
and was encamped at Silver creok,
in tho south end of Chiricahuas,
about sixty miles southeast of this
nlace. Loco, Chatto and about
200 hostiles have surrendered, and
were brought in by Crook, who re
orossed the line last Saturday with
them. The .pnsocers.were about
seventy-five bucks, the old and
sick, and tke remainder were wo
men and children. It is said that
Crook will return and endeavor to
capture the warriors.
The courier states that another
reason why Crook remains at Sil
ver creek is to wait news from tho
secretary of war, as to what dispo
sition to make of the Indians, as
Wilcox, agent at San Carlo-, re
fused to receive a lot that came in
last week. Crook returned Sot
supplies and will go back to the
Sierra Madres after the balance of
the hostiles if they don't come. In
conversation with Smith, the. cour
ier mentioned, he stated that the
hostiles had plenty of money. One
old squaw, who was the possessc r
of three 50 bills, made inquiry of
some one at Col. Biddle's camp as
to the value of her possessions.
Upon being told that the notes
were for $5 each, she grunted out
a decided negative, and pointed
-with her skinney finger to the
naught after thejfive on each note.
Quito a number of bucks had sil
ver stars and other ornaments,
beaten out of Mexican dollars,
on their head-gear, and several of
them American double eagles
made into necklaces. A rough
guess estimates the amount of
wealth among them as fully $5,000
and probably more.
Troops and packers of the com
mand state that the place where
the capture occured is the prettiest
spot on earth, and the road to it
the roughest mortal man ever trod.
Mickey Free, the noted scout,
stating that he had worn out a
Dair of boots and three pair of
moccasins on the trip. A large
majority of itSe hostiles seem
pleased witfrfjhh' situation, evi
dently expectg an immediate re
turn to the 'Jpifeh pots" of San
Carlos. The oMjr complaint comes
from some of VSBe squaws whose
bucks are arnojig those who made
an escape.
Officers whfere with the ex
pedition statoMitit Crook had sur
rounded the ipiians before they
knew of his piie'cnce, and that if
he had not doio it would have
taken six intWths and all the
men in Arizotfo have got them.
As an ill notation of Crook's
modesty and ijjibfd absence of fuss
and feathers iSf his make up, it
may be saidtkat, although the
fight and capture occured on the
15th of last nJMith, he leisurely re
traced his stej&fio his supply camp
at Silver creek, not sending a
courier aheadttbsignal his move
ments. The first intimation of his re
turn was thewRrnval of a lieuten

From rheumatism I have been a
great sufferer during the past
seven years and part of the time
have been confined to tny bed.
The last Attack kept me in bed for
seven long months, in which time
I employed the best medical skill
without securing relief. I was in
duced to try St Jacobs Oil, which
remedy has entirely cured me.
My hands hare become straight
and can be used as well as ever.
I have induced others afflicted
with rheumatism to use it, and
they have experienced the same
happy result. I wish it was in my
power to tell suffering humanity
of the curative- powers of St. Ja
