My people who liavc not seen Us done might think it impossible; yot it is not only possible but ex tremely easy, as was explained in ttts paper, several years ago, and recontlv described in the British and Colonial Printer and Station er, which is as follews: Get a plate ghus, and place it on a sheet of paper; then lot the latter be thorough! soaked. "With care and a little dexterity the sheet oan be split b' the top surface being removed. Butthe best plan is to paste a piece of cloth or strong paper to each side of the shoot to be split. When dry, violently and without hesitation pM the two pieces asunder, when part of the sheet will be found to ltavt adhered to one and part to the other. Soften the paste in wxrer, and the pieces can be easily romoved from the cloth. The proooss is generally demonstrated as a mutter of curiosity, yet it can ho utifiaod in various ways. 1 f wc want to paste in a scrap book a newspaper article printed on both sides of the paper, and pos sess only one copy, it is very con venient to know how to detach one side from the other. The paper when split, as may be imag ined, is more transparent than it was before being subject to the oporation, and the printing ink is somewhat duller; otherwise the two pioces prosent the appearance of the original, if again brought togetlier. Some time ago, the Stationer says, the information of how to do this splitting was adver tised to be sold for a considerable sum. C. S. Mayo, Esq., manager of of the Mcrrimac Paper Co., Law ran cc, Mass., was troubled with rheumatism in the ankle which St.4 Jacobs Oil cured in a few hours. USSffiMEfflSypD TRADE. POUT OF ASTORIA.
