Since the swamping of the boat on FridajT evening, Sept. 16th, and the drowning fof five men, says the Oregonian, efforts have been made constantly to recover the bodies. A sharp lookout was kept along the river, and the stream near where the boat swamped and below that point was 'Iragged. The vigilant search has at length been rewarded, and all the bodies recovered. On tho morning of Sept. 23d, the body of Thomas Man ninsr was recovered. The next morn ing the body of Simon Carl was found. Sunday morning the remains of John Sampson were discovered and brought ashore. The body of Joseph Johnson was found Monday mornimr. and Alexander Owen on the following day. Two bodies were recovered about one- luarterof a mile below where tho boat swamped, two bodies about one mile below, and one about sir miles below, where it had been carried by the current. The bodies of these unfortunate men were accorded as decent a burial as circumstances would permit. The re mains were enclosed in boxes anf laid to rest side by side. They were bnried near the bank of the Columbia, about one mile west of Multnomah falls. Mr. Felix Owen, the brother of Alex.
