Mrs Hume is undoubtedly the best lady shot on this coast, and as far as we can J earn is equal to the best gentleman in this popular pleasure. The Dorcas society, a new order for the yonng folk, was organized in this city on Thursday evening last, v,-ith about fifteen charter members. Every attention was given Mr. Tippin, but on Wednes day morning last about rive o'clock, he passed to the other world. He was a kind j good old man, and respected by all who knew him. It is deserving of mention that at the auction sale at Holden'son Thurs day evening, a gentleman passed to Mr. Frank Keelar, the auctioneer, a twenty dollar piece for a dollar.
