Philadelphia, Feb. 19. The new steamship State of California left Cramp's yard this morning on a trial trip, previous to her departure for Portland. Washington, Feb. 19. After a careful consultation among the Pacific coast delegation, it has to-day been determined to move non-concurrence in senate amendments to the Chinese immigration bill and thus to secure speedy final action through the instru mentality of the committee of confer ence. Pittsburg, Feb. 20. Danger exists of an outbreak by striking coal miners along the Monongahela river on ac count of reduction of wages not being accepted. Old men have possession of the mines. Sheriff Work, with a posse mounted and heavily armed went to arresting miners, and a large number of strikers were jailed. Two hundred and thirty of this possee are camped in Brownsville. Mackey recently, for the seduction of his wife, and demanding 200, 000 damages, has to-day instructed his attorneys to withdraw the suit and also a suit he had filed for a dhorce from his wife.
