Spend Your Money at Home.
The following are the most forcible rea
eons why yoa bhould pend your money at
heme:
1st, It is your home; you cannot im
prove it much by taking it away to tpend
or ihVesst.
2d, There is no way of improving a place
bo much as by encouraging good mer
Miinnts wnnil schools and cood peonle to
fcettle among you, and this cannot be done
Unless you pend your money at home.
8d, Spend your money at home, for
there is where you generally get it. It h
your duty.
4, Spend your money at home" because
when it is necessary for you to get credit,
it i& of your town merchants you have to
get it, and they must wait for th money.
Therefore, when you have the cash, spend
it at home.
5th, Spend your money at home. It
will make better merchants of your mer-A.iM.Mtc-
t.liRv ran and will keen better
lusortments and hell at lower rates than if
the onlv business they can do is what is
credited out, while the money goes to
other places.
Gth, Spend your money at home. Set
foe example now. Buy j'our dry goods,
groceries, meats, and everything at home,
and you will see a wonderinl change in a
ihort time in the bu-inc.s outlook of the
place: therefore, deal with your home
merchants.
7th, Spend j'our money at home. "What
do you gain by going oil? Count the
cost; see what 'ou could have done at
home by letting your merchants have the
cash. Strike a balance and ee if you
would nothavebeen justas well oil", betide
helping your merchants.
8th, Spend your money at home. Your
merchants are your neighbors, your
friends; they stand by you in i-icknesb
are your associates. "Without your trade
they cannot keep your business. No
stores, then no banks, no one wanting to
buy property to settle on and build up
your place.
Encourage Stkanv.eihs. Just now a
large number of persons are coming
into the country in search of homes.
As a rule they are families with
means, but occasionally a poor strag
gler will be found whose means are
exhausted, and who must depend
upon employment for his daily bread.
In all such cases ourcannerymen and
men of means sliould strain a point
to help the needy immigrant. Look
above your place and find something
ior him to do, and thus make the
stranger feel that he has found a
home among a sympathizing and
liberal people.

.jSS-The corpse of a business man,
who hart never advertised during his
whole life, was secuivd by one of our
Eastern medical colleges and placed in a
dissecting rcom, where the young would
be doctors went to work on him. They
iound him very tough. He hid been so
close in all his dealings that the very ar
teries and veins had become, in the latter
part of his life, so contracted that he had
not for years enjoyed cood health. His
heart was black and calloused at the lower
end. He also had a white liver, which
was very knotty in place. 13uines? men
who do not advertise should take warning
from that poor unfortunate wretch.
