The bark Forest Queen (will pass the river),
sailed from San Francisco for Port Townscnd
August 20th.
The Victor and "W. H. Meyer are both on
the way tto pass tho Columbia river), to Fort
Townscnd, having sailed from San Francisco
-on the 21st.

For Honolulu The barkentino Jane A. Fal
kinburg, loaded for the Sandwich Islands, will
clear this evening, and perhaps sail to-morrow
For Sydney Tho bark Forward, of nong
Kong, loaded for Australia, is also ready for
eoa. and will sail to-morrow.
Freights.
The brig Orient, which arrived from
San Prancisco last evening, comes in bal
last and will load with lumber at Knapp
ton for the return voyage.
The bark Forward, for Sj'dney direct,
will sail to-morrow. Her cargo consists
of 490,000 feet of lumber and spars; 1500
cases of canned salmon and 62 half bar
rels of salmon. She will also cany six
passengers,
The cargo of the barkentino Jane A.
Palkinburg, to sail for Honolulu to-mor-raw,
is as follews: Prom Portland 1,500
lbs hams; 1,045 lbs dried apples; 47 Y hbls
salmon; G ldts do.; 105 bbls do.; 196 cases
hard bread; S00 K sacks oi flour. Prom
Westport 10 kits salmon; 10 y bbls sal
mon bellies; 10 bbls 10 34 do plain salmon
and 10 cases canned do. Prom Astoria, 153
cords stave bolts; 9S M bbls salmon; 2,000
feet lumber.

Notice to Pilots, (and Ship Masters).
Every Pilotor Ship Master who shall bring in
to the port of Astoria any ship or vessel having
on board any persons or goods infected with
Small-pox, Cholera, Leprosy, or other conta
gious diseases, or which shall have had on
board any such infections during tho voyage,
or which he suspects, from the bad sanitary
condition of the vessel may be capable of pro
pagating disease, shall anchor such ship or
vessel below Smith's Point, and givo immedi
ate notice to tho Health Officer Hi any viola
tions of tho foregoing regulations tho law will
