McCrary of Florence, Ore.,
died on May 12, 2021. She
was born on June 7, 1939,
to John Russell and Mari-

of Denver, Colo. Joanie
passed away peacefully
under the excellent care of
her husband, Peace Health
Hospice and New Friends
staff.
She is survived by her
husband of 51 years, Ron-
ald Eugene McCrary of
Florence, Ore.; her daugh-
ter and son-in-law Kath-
ryn Hope and Paul Wilken

born shortly afterwards
on Aug. 5, 1970.
They lived in Lake-
wood, Colo., for 32 years.
As they approached
retirement age, Joanie
longed to return to the
coast of Oregon and they
moved to Florence in
2002. She was active in

rary transfers of water rights, emer-
gency water use permits, and use
of existing right options and agree-
ments.
The OWRD
maintains
a
drought website
that provides the
status of current
the Presbyterian Church
Choir and the Florence
Community Chorus. She
met some of her closest
friends through the two
organizations and those
relationships continued
until her passing.
Joan just loved the
weather and beautiful
vegetation on the Oregon
coast and settled into her
last years in comfort and
reflection.
A celebration of life will
be held on Saturday, July
3, at 2 p.m. at the Pres-
byterian Church of the
Siuslaw at 3996 Highway
101 in Florence, Ore. For
