Western Oregon University
this fall to play football.

bleheader of the season.
Meanwhile, Siuslaw’s
baseball team hosted
Marist for Senior Night
as well, and the Spartans’
baseball team is also
first place in the Sky-
Em League. The Viks
honored seniors Elijah
Blank-enship, Chayton
James, Clay Kramer and
Dalton Stinger.
Despite facing a loss
13-1, Coach Tom Shinn
noted, “The men had
a positive attitude and
kept fighting to the end.”
The Viks also had
their game finish early,
but after five innings.
On offense, the team
struggled to connect
with the ball and get on
base, scoring only 1 run
in the fourth inning as a
result of Beau Erickson
skillfully stealing three
bases after being walked.
“In the fourth inning,
the guys that came to
the plate showed a lot of
plate discipline, worked
several walks and pushed
a run across,” said Shinn.
On defense, Clay
Kramer and Jason Gar-
cia each had two strike-
outs for the evening, and
Erick-son picked up one
as well.
“Marist is a very good
baseball team,” admitted
Shinn. “Their pitcher,
