Before turning in a ballot, voters should remember to review both sides of the ballot. “Lane County Elections wants to remind registered voters to review both sides of their official ballot. Some ballots have addi- tional voting opportunities on the back of their ballot,” said Lane County Clerk Cheryl Betschart. “Once a ballot has been returned it cannot be amended or recast.” Registered voters anywhere in Oregon who have changed their address still have time to update their registration and qualify for a full ballot. Those with elec- tion-related questions should contact Lane County Elections at 541-682-4234. Voters may drop off their bal- NOTICE lots at one of many official drop box locations listed in the insert included with their ballot. Drop boxes are now open and will re- main open until 8 p.m. on Elec- tion Day, Tuesday, May 18. A map of drop box locations is also avail- able online. Due to COVID-19, the Lane County Elections Office will be open to the public only on Friday, May 14; Monday, May 17; and Tuesday, May 18, Election Day. Check www.lanecountyor.gov for additional updates concerning office hours. When open, visitors will be required to observe physical dis- tancing guidelines; masks are re- quired. The Elections Office has a small quantity of masks available for visitors that do not have their own. On all other dates, the Lane County Elections Office is closed to walk-ins. Assistance is avail- able over the phone at 541-682- 4234 (weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and via email at elec- tions@lanecountyor.gov. Last Resort Players open auditions for roles in upcoming June show The Last Resort Players will hold auditions for “The (LRP) have announced they Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler. For the last two years, Michele Smith of the local Ladies of the Flor- ence Elks Lodge #1858, has secured a “Warmth and Literacy” grant, which enabled her to purchase dozens of books for elementary, middle and high school libraries. “Our librarians created wish lists on Amazon, which she fulfilled,” said Siuslaw School District Special Programs Secretary Ella Glowacki. Smith also used the grant funds to purchase shoes and socks for local students. “The Ladies of Elks have been so wonderful to us here at the school district,” Glowacki added. Art Festivals but people should bring an adventurous spirit, a sense of fun, and the ability to speak honestly and from the heart. The show features 10 wild- ly divergent monologues. Copies of the script are avail- able for preview. Those con- sidering auditioning should look at the script and see which character or charac- ters “speak to them.” Then they should come prepared to read from the script in a relaxed, warm and welcoming environment. Auditions will be held Fri- day, May 14, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at the Florence Playhouse, 208 Laurel St. Other audition times may be available by special arrangement.
