To receive PPE, business- es must have less than 100 employees and be located in the Florence area. Business- es that are interested can sign up on the City of Flor- ence’s website at ci.florence. or.us. The PPE that is available, in limited quantities, is as follows: • Masks • Gloves (size medium & large) • Aerosol disinfectant spray • Sanitizing/alcohol wipes • Hand sanitizer gel • Touchless thermome- ters The PPE will be distrib- uted on a first come, first serve basis, with priority being given to businesses that did not receive any PPE in the previous rounds of distribution. PPE will start being dis- tributed in late April. To submit a request for PPE, businesses should complete the quick form that can be found at ci.flor- ence.or.us/economicdevel- opment/ppe-businesses-1. City staff will notify busi- nesses by email with more information about pick up in April. In the first two rounds of PPE distribution, the city distributed over 44,000 masks, 440 packages of gloves, 3,000 packages of disinfectants, 1,000 cans of aerosol sanitizing spray, 215 gallons of hand sanitiz- er and 163 touchless ther- mometers to over 250 busi- nesses in the Siuslaw region, serving over 1,142 members of the local workforce. Florence was also able to provide PPE to numerous nonprofit organizations with a combined total of over 450 routine volunteers. Food For Lane County seeks community member input through Hunger Factors survey FOOD for Lane Coun- ty (FFLC) is conducting a survey to better under- stand who, why and where the community is in need of food assistance. The confidential survey is open to anyone who has witnessed or experi- enced food insecurity and is available from April 1 to April 30. The survey is confiden- tial and should take 10 to 15 minutes. People have the option of entering a drawing for one of 20 $25 gift cards to thank them for their time. Throughout the pan- demic, even as the econo- my improved, Lane Coun- ty residents continued to access food assistance at the highest rate in sever- al years. It is for anyone who has visited a pantry, a meal site or gotten help with food.
