More than three decades of
beautiful growth in Florence

or more than 30 years,
folks have been coming
to Lisa Walter-Sedlacek
and her husband David
Sedlacek for full-service
landscaping and gardening
in the Florence area.
What started out with Lisa creating
dried floral wreaths at night from their
home has grown to include landscape
installation, maintenance and Laurel Bay
Garden Center, 88493 Highway 101, ca-
tering to gardeners on the Oregon coast.
When asked about the reason for the
company’s longevity and steady growth,
Lisa said it’s primarily due to the team’s
dedication and focus in providing excel-
lent customer service, a desire to offer
plants suited for the area’s growing con-
ditions, and the knowledge and skill of
the garden center’s staff.
“We focus on plants that do well in our
area, which allows us to stand apart from
our competition. You can go to the val-
ley and get plants, but those plants won’t
always do as well in our area,” Lisa said.
“And we love to get plants you can’t find
anywhere else. That is really fun, because
to me, that’s what gardening is all about
— having something that gives you joy
when you walk out into your garden.”

Gardens just north of
Florence on Highway 101.
In addition to a focus
on the needs of individual
gardeners and private res-
idences, Laurel Bay Gardens’ client list
also includes many of Florence’s highest
profile businesses, including Three Riv-
ers Casino, the Florence Area Cham-
ber of Commerce and Burns’s Riverside
Chapel.
In addition, Laurel Bay Gardens offers
bark, compost and a variety of hardscap-
ing materials for home and business ap-
plications, as well as both traditional and
modern types of outdoor décor, statues,
pottery, metal sculptures and unique ar-
tisan items created and designed in a va-
riety of different styles and colors.

munity,” Lisa said.
