OBITUARIES
LOVE—B. David Love,
84, formerly of Mapleton,
passed away Wednesday,
Oct. 21, 2020, in Medford,
Ore.
Dave was born July 28,
1936, in Aberdeen, Wash.,
to Otho Rudy and Ida May
Love. They moved to Sky-
komish, Wash., where he
went to
school
before
moving
to Maple-
ton, Ore,
in 1951,

Dave had two sisters,
Beverly May Best and Lois
June Claspil.
They all graduated from
Mapleton High School.
Dave went to South-
ern Oregon College in
Ashland, Ore., where he
earned his Master’s De-
gree. He also served in the
U.S. Army at a Nike Mis-
sile site near Seoul, Korea.
He married Sharon
Rieger and they had two
children, Michael John
and Ramon Mark Love.
Sharon had a son Jay who
lived with Dave for a time.
Dave taught mathemat-
ics at Crater High School
in Central Point, Ore., for
32 years. He also enjoyed
coaching football, basket-
ball and baseball.
He also ran a wildland
firefighting crew of stu-
dents during the summer
months. After he retired
from teaching, he worked
at the Jackson County
Fairgrounds for a number
of years.
In November 1995,
Dave married Joyce Mc-
Cain Garcia of Eugene,
Ore., and they made their
home in Medford.
Preceding him in death
were his parents, Rudy and
Ida May Love; and his sis-
ters, Beverly May Best and
Lois June Claspill.
Surviving are his wife
Joyce;
sons
Michael
(Joyce) and Mark Love
(Fifi);
brother-in-law
Roger Claspill and his
family; Trudy and Roger,
Jr; Joyce’s children: Lor-
rie, Jeanna, Tod and Bill
and their families; grand-
children: Braunwyn, Ava,
Bradley and Noah; and
many nieces, nephews,
and friends.
Burns’s Riverside Chap-
el Florence Funeral Home
was in charge of arrange-
ments with internment at
Pacific Sunset Cemetery.
Dave will be missed.

82, passed away Oct. 18,
2020, at his home in West-
lake, Ore., with his family
at his side.

U.S. Navy from 1956 to
1976 before retiring as a
CPO. He loved the Navy
and the sea.
After retirement, he
moved to Westlake, work-
ing at Florence Golf Links,
Copeland Lumber and Pro
Lumber in Florence.
Malcom’s hobbies in-
cluded gardening fishing
and just being outdoors.
He was a life member of
the Florence Chapter of
Cooties, along with the
VFW.
He is survived by his sis-
ter, Janet
Shafer;

mand;

Wright;

sha Smith; stepson Jeff
Smith; along with numer-
ous grandchildren and

etary on Nov. 4.

49,
of Florence, Ore., passed
away on Oct. 16, 2020.
She was a beloved moth-
er, daughter, sister, aunt
and friend.

Lockwood
Flor-
ence.
Kris attended Siuslaw
High School. After high
school, she continued her
education and became a
certified Health Informa-
tion Analyst. Kris had a
wonderful knack for solv-
ing problems and obtained
many certifications in her
field of study.
Kris always had a desire
to create, she loved sun-
flowers, country décor and
home decorating.
She put all these togeth-
er and became an entre-
preneur, opening her own
business.
Words cannot describe
how much she will be
missed.
Kris is survived by her
four boys: Nick, Nathan,
Noah and Nolan, all of
Florence; her mother Rose
Larson; her brother Kevin
and his wife Suzan Larson;
her sister Kim and her
husband Mike Steele; her
brother Ken and his wife
Kristy; many nephews,
nieces, cousins, aunts, un-
cles and close friends that
she also considered her
family.
She was preceded in
death by her father, Gary
Larson.
Final services were pro-
vided by Burns Riverside
Chapel and a private cele-
bration of life will be held
by the family.
