Siuslaw School District is still processing credits and transcripts to determine the status for senior students, who will receive a call from a teacher, counselor or ad- ministrator who will then inform seniors of their unique details for graduation. Kate Brown formally announced her decision to close schools for the remainder of the school year, where “school, and learning, will continue as best as we can using remote means,” she said. Local school districts in Florence and Mapleton have been prepar- ing for the announcement since the governor first closed school prop- erties in March. “Distance learning will continue for Siuslaw students, either in an electronic, instructional packet, or hybrid form,” said Siuslaw Superin- tendent Andrew Grzeskowiak in a statement on Wednesday.
