SPANN—Larry Spann, 74, of Florence, Ore., passed a w a y Mon d ay, March 16, 2020. H e fought for 7½ years beat Larry Spann to pancre- atic cancer and was a true warrior and a testament to his belief “never give up.” Larry was born Sept. 15, 1945, in Hamilton, Texas, was raised in Blythe, Calif., and became an Oregonian when he left the service in 1967 and moved to Alsea, Ore. He married, raised five children and worked in the timber industry in the Phi- lomath and Corvallis areas for most of his adult life. His interests were bowl- ing, boating, softball and — most of all — his chil- dren. At age 44, he met and married Cathy and they spent 30 years together RVing, boating, showing and restoring classic cars and riding the dunes in Florence and slickrock in Moab, Utah, in their Arctic Cat side-by-side. So very tired after his long battle with cancer, Larry decided to forego ad- ditional treatment and said Do you part and volunteer today to help support these organizations in our community.
