Recently retired from ad- ministrative jobs and office work, when Renteria moved to Florence in 2018 she was determined to become the artist she had dreamed of being. “My favorite paintings are of family and friends where I have tried to cap- ture emotions and feelings. Aha moment,” Renteria said. “This is what I want my artist voice to be ... to create a painting that stirs your emotions, makes you ponder the story behind what you are seeing, and makes you use your imagination.” FRAA is open Wednesday through Sunday at the FRAA Art Center, where many options are avail- able for Christmas shopping, and a Giving Tree offers ornaments for sale to benefit the Siuslaw Middle School Band.
