Anna was born in Lyons
Station, Penn., the young-
est daughter of the late
Harvey
Heffner
and Ver-
na (Read-
inger)
Heffner.
Anna
worked as
radiolo-

nician for
nearly 40
years.
She retired in 2007,
from PeaceHealth, where
she worked for over 25
years in both Florence and
Cottage Grove.
She had also raised al-
pacas for nearly 20 years.
She was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church
in Cottage Grove.
Anna loved working in
her garden and sharing
the harvest, raising ani-
mals and knitting.
Anna was a hard worker
who supported and loved
her children and grand-
children.
She is survived by her
children; Justin Henry of
Florence; Jeremy Henry
of Tillamook; Jacob Hen-
ry and his wife, Rada, of
Montesano, Wash.; grand-
children Noah Dotson
and Owen Henry, both of
Florence.
Other survivors are sib-
lings Gladys Reinert, Huff
Church,
Pennsylvania;
Madelyn Spohn of Lyons,
Pennsylvania;
Jeanette
Winkler of Fleetwood,
Pennsylvania;
Marie
Wessner of Topton, Penn-
sylvania and Paul Heffner
of Tennessee.
Anna was preceded in
death by sister Layla Feg-
ley; brothers Monroe Hef-
fner, Fred Heffner, Russell
Heffner and David Heff-
ner.

The Environmental Man-
agement Advisory Commit-
tee (EMAC) develops local
strategies and advises the
Florence City Council on
protecting Florence’s health
and environment and con-
serving its energy and natu-
ral resources.
EMAC is responsible for
regulating the solid waste
code, ensuring compliance
with DEQ recycling educa-
tion requirements, and serv-
ing as the city’s Tree Board.
The committee is com-
prised of between 5-11 citi-
zen members and additional
ex-officio non-voting mem-
bers. Florence is recruiting
for applicants to fulfill va-
cant positions on EMAC.
EMAC generally meets
once per month as a group.
Persons interested should
expect to attend recurring
meetings and devote time
for study of issues and per-
formance above and beyond
meeting attendance.
Anyone interested in
serving on the EMAC com-
mittee should consider ap-
plying for one of the open
positions on EMAC.
The deadline for applica-
tions is Dec. 31.
