And our guests donated two, 32-gallon containers of food, which will be shared with Ma- pleton and Florence food shares.” Kiwanis Internation- al was formed in 1915 in Detroit and was original- ly envisioned as a business networking opportunity. This focus on connecting with neighbors, and other ser- vice-oriented individuals to help their communities, soon be- came the group’s primary mission. Sheets also commented on the response from com- munity members to the dinner provided, which was overwhelmingly posi- tive. “One guest indicated they were very pleased at the ‘smooth operation, providing so many deli- cious meals to our com- munity,’” Sheets related. “And a first-time volun- teer shared, ‘Everyone seemed to be having such a good time and saying how they enjoyed the Thanks- giving meal.
