rell Heath and just a few staff
members in 1994, has expanded to
over 100 employees in 14 locations
throughout the Western United
States. Collectively, Ability Center
serves more than 10,000 mobility
customers annually with personal-

In 1978, Heath worked convert-
ing vans for disabled use at the in-
fancy of the mobility vehicle move-
ment. Sixteen years later, his fi rst
Ability Center store in San Diego,
Calif., opened, dedicated to helping
the physically challenged elevate
their quality of life through in-
creased mobility. Since then, Ability
Center has been at the forefront of
the wheelchair accessible, vehicle
