he Kiwanis Club of Florence pres-
ents the annual Community Free
Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday,
Nov. 28, from noon until 2 p.m. at
the Florence Elks Lodge, 1686 12th
Street.
Food donations for Florence and
Mapleton Food Share, as well as cash
donations, are gratefully accepted.
Free Transportation to/from the
Elks Lodge to destinations within the
city limits is provided by River Cit-
ies Taxi. Please call 541-997-8520 to
schedule in advance.
The free Thanksgiving Dinner is
organized by the Kiwanis Club of
Florence and hosted by Elks Lodge

ing to benefit Florence Food

cery Outlet on Saturday,

drive aims to fill the food
bank’s pantries with much
needed canned, boxed and
frozen food items in time
for the holiday season.

at 2066 Highway 101. The
Pounding will begin at 10
a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23,
and continue in the store
until 2 p.m.
Nov. 18 to 25 is Operation Christmas
Child Gift Collection Week in Florence
Florence Evangeli-
cal Church is once again
the area collection point
for Operation Christmas
Child, the world’s largest
Christmas project of its
kind.
Florence residents, fam-
ilies, churches and groups
can help spread joy to mil-
lions of children around
the world by filling shoe-
boxes as Christmas gifts for
them. The gifts can include
school supplies, clothing,
toothbrushes and toys for
children ages two to 14.
(No liquids, lotions, candy,
or gum please.)

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Plus, on
Wednesday, Nov. 20, from
5 to 8 p.m., and Monday,
Nov. 25, from 8 to 10 a.m.
