The Wiener Dog Races will be a highlight of Okto-Fur-Fest. The games feature multiple heats for each Dachshund age group. It’s a chance to let well-behaved dogs show off, especially as sev- eral previous Wiener Dog Race winners are expected to compete. “We are excited for our annual race,” said Flor- ence Wiener Dog Race Chairwoman Jeanna Pe- tersen, who founded the event. “We can’t wait to see all the dogs run.” Entry to Okto-Fur-Fest is $3. Limited perimeter seating, for the best view of the races, are available for $10 at the FEC Box Office. Tickets are available at the Flor- ence Events Center or at the door the day of the event. “Thank you to all who help put on this event each year,” Petersen said. “We appreciate all your help and look forward to a great event.” There is still time to register your dog for the Florence Wiener Dog Races.
