The services offered by
PPC include education-

pregnancy, life skills train-

weekly parent and child
playgroups.
Kirby was also quick to
point out the contributions

smoothly,” Kirby said. “We
were able to get other spon-

beverages and we had vol-

School Bowling Team,
True Value Hardware and
the Boys and Girls Club to
help us out during the day
— which was busier than
we expected.”
The nice weather con-
tributed to the big turnout
on Saturday, which Kirby
estimated at more than 250
people.
Joe Crenshaw was the
onsite coordinator for the
Family Fun Day, and he
was surprised not only by
the turnout but also by the
willingness of the commu-
nity to step up and support
a day designed specifically
for families.
“Our event was a tre-
mendous success in terms
of kids and families having
a fun time. The event was
also a success because of
the great turnout we had,
with 280 participants and
volunteers,” Crenshaw said.
“We also had face painting,
corn hole and lots of pizza
and donuts. We are very

volunteers did to make this
event happen.”
Kirby was also clear that
the day would not have

IMPORTANT FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Boys & Girls Club receives no federal or state funding and
no large corporate sponsors. All of our financial support is
provided directly from community members like you, and all of
the proceeds go directly to benefit the kids in Florence. As a
youth development organization, club members learn real-life
skills about employment, balancing a checkbook, savings, and
learning to make quality lifestyle decisions.
Our club fills the gap between school and home – where kids
need us most. Every boy and girl in Florence, regardless of
their address, ethnicity, or economic situation, deserves the
opportunity to a great future.
