Sheriff’s Office still seeking information on two heroin-related shootings
Lane County Sheriff ’s
Office (LCSO) is still seek-
ing assistance in locating a
shooting suspect in Flor-
ence. It has now been con-
firmed that three separate
shootings involving the
sale of heroin between July
18 and Aug. 9 took place
county wide.
Deputies and detectives
have identified the sus-
pects in each shooting.
LCSO’s investigation indi-
cates the shootings were
not committed by the same
suspects and are unrelat-
ed, with the exception that
they occurred around the
sale of heroin.
The two suspects iden-
tified in the Aug. 9 shoot-
ing have been located and
arrested. Detectives are
still searching for the sus-
pects identified from the
July 19 Glenwood shooting
and the July 29 Florence
shooting, and are asking
anyone who knows where
Juan Hernandez-Burboa
or Gene Manuel Joseph are
to call 541-682-4141.
On July 19, two males
entered a residence at the
Ponderosa Mobile Village
in Glenwood and shots
were fired during a heroin
sale, injuring a 31-year-old
male.
Juan Israel Hernan-
dez-Burboa of Eugene, 20,
has been identified as a
suspect in the shooting and
deputies are still searching
for him.
People are asked to not
attempt to contact Her-
nandez-Burboa as he is
considered to be armed
and dangerous.
On July 29, LCSO re-
sponded to PeaceHealth
Peace Harbor Hospital in
Florence regarding a gun-
shot wound victim who
was reportedly shot in the
leg earlier in the day in an
area south of Florence off
Highway 101.
A 32-year-old male was
proximately 200 Samuel Ferguson, un-
pounds. He has known city of residence,
