Agents from Windermere Real Estate/Lane County volunteer at Florence Food Share by harvesting
produce in the garden.
On Friday, June 7, bro-
kers from Windermere
Real Estate/Lane Coun-
ty took the day off from
showing houses to spend
the day volunteering at
the Florence Food Share
and Garden where they
harvested produce.
The day was part of
Windermere Real Estate’s
35th annual Commu-
nity Service Day, which
involves Real Estate bro-
kers, managers, owners
and staff from 300 of-
fices across the Western
United States gathering
to devote a workday to
making positive chang-
es in the neighborhoods
they serve.
Windermere’s annu-
al Community Service
Day has been recognized
nationally as a model
hands-on volunteer pro-
gram and has been ad-
opted by other real estate
companies and business-
es around the country.

at Florence-4-Life event June 22

present pro-life residents
in Florence with an op-
portunity to speak togeth-
er with a common voice
during an event on Sat-
urday, June 22, beginning
at 11 a.m. at the Florence
Events Center.
It will be an opportunity
to listen, learn, share and
demonstrate pro-life sup-
port. The event will have
two speakers, a movie and
refreshments.
In recent years, scien-
tific advances have reaf-
firmed that an embryo in
the womb is a distinct hu-
man life with unique DNA
markers.
“I love the fact that I can
join people that share the
same passion for women
and their right to choose
life for their babies,” said
Pam Henry, one of the
event organizers. “We
don’t yell, we aren’t angry,
and we value the woman
and her baby from the very
beginning.”
The film “I Lived on
Parker Avenue” will be
shown. For those who can’t
attend the event, “there are
still ways to make a dif-
ference for life — through
prayer, through involve-
ment with local pregnancy
care centers and through
supporting pro-life organi-
zations,” said Henry.
