MAY 15, 2019 • 112th Rhododendron Festival • 21 ReVision Florence construction impacts to be low on Rhody Days Th e ReVision Florence Streetscape Project construction is well underway. Th e contractor will be working Monday through Wednesday of the week lead- ing up to the Rhododendron Festival (May 13-15). Crews will not be working Th ursday, May 16, through Sunday, May 19. Crews will work through Wednesday, May 15, to prepare the construction zone for the Rhododendron Festival. Th is will include the reopening of both southbound travel lanes on Highway 101 and both westbound travel lanes on Highway 126. Within the work zone, the contractor will still have the outer shoulder closed to vehicles (no on-street parking) on the westside of Highway 101. Open trenching will be temporarily fi lled with gravel for the Festival week- end. Pedestrian routing cones and bar- ricades will remain in place to protect pedestrians from the hazards. People are encouraged to be cautious in the entire corridor as the area will still be a construction zone despite the work crews and equipment not being present. Parade spectators will be able to view the parade on Sunday from both the sidewalks and the closed highway shoul- der, similar to previous years. Th e city asks the public not to move the cones during the parade as they will be needed at their designated locations immediately following the parade when traffi c is returned to both sides of the highway. Following the Rhododendron Festi- val, construction crews will return Mon- day, May 20, to complete the sidewalks and curbs on the westside of Highway 101. Th e lane closures and traffi c control devices will return through the end of May and be removed again for Memo- rial Day weekend. Aft er Memorial Day, work will move to the eastside of High- way 101. Find out more about ReVision Flor- ence at www.ci.fl orence.or.us/urbanre- newal/revision-fl orence.
