At 0-11 coming into last
Tuesday’s home game against
visiting Elmira, there was no
chance for the Vikings base-
ball team to reach the post
season as the Far West League
rolled into its final week of
league play
But that didn’t keep Siuslaw
from mounting one of its best
performances of the season,
much to the chagrine of the
Falcons, who came i to the
game hoping to secure a state
play-off position with a win.
Siuslaw had other ideas,
instead playing spoiler to
Elmira’s post-season
hopes by landing the
Falcons for a 4-1
upset victory.
“I cant express
how proud I am of
the men tonight,”
said Siuslaw coach
Tom Shinn, follow-
ing Tuesday’s win.
“They played hard
and executed very
well defensively.”
