CROW promises to do the classic story justice, with high-quality sets, costumes, special effects and much more. The 50+ person cast of all-youth performers have been rehearsing complicated music, dances and scenes since mid-January, and are poised and pol- ished. Popular songs from the show include “Ease On Down The Road,” “Believe in Yourself,” “Everybody Rejoice” and “Home.” CROW Artistic Director Melanie Heard says, “This is absolutely our best show, yet!” — and that’s saying something, considering the non-profit organization has already produced seven mainstage youth mu- sicals, four haunted mazes, a dance showcase, sev- eral teen straight plays and three Holly Jolly Follies Sundays through April GriefShare Classes Help and encouragement after the death of a loved one; 2 to 4 p.m.; 562-291-8131 Church on the Rock, 1750 17th St. Mondays Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families 5:30 to 7 p.m.; open to public Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2135 19th St. For more information, contact 541-991-3223 Tuesdays Yoga for Pain Management Sponsored by PeaceHealth Peace Harbor; Free — drop-ins welcome 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Yoga mats and other equipment are supplied Lane Community College Florence Center Peace Harbor Farm Stand Collaboration between PeaceHealth, Trillium Community Health Plan and FOOD for Lane County Fresh, seasonal vegetables and fruits free to people with OHP or who qualify for food assistance PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Medical Center, 400 Ninth St. Wednesdays Fun Connections Playgroup For children 5 and under 9:30 to 11 a.m.; Open to families of young children Pregnancy & Parenting Center, 1525 12th St., Suite G Points of Grace Community Acupuncture Experience relief from pain and stress; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations appreciated 1845 Highway 126 Thursdays Yoga for Pain Management Sponsored by PeaceHealth Peace Harbor; Free — drop-ins welcome 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Yoga mats and other equipment are supplied Lane Community College Florence Center Community Chorus of Florence 7 to 8:30 p.m.; Open to new mem- bers; Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw Every second and fourth Friday Free Testing for HIV and HepC Hosted by Alliance for Men’s Wellness and HIV Alliance 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; free PeaceHealth Oregon Cardiology, 310 Ninth St. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month holiday shows — all of which have dazzled pa- trons since 2011. The story goes like this: Once upon a time, a tornado transports a young girl named Dor- othy (Nyah Vollmar) from Kansas to the land of Oz. While trying to find her way back home, she meets a Scarecrow (Cort Waggoner), Tin- man (Jonathan Olson) and Lion (William Owens), who are each looking for something very personal to them. When the friends meet the Wiz and complete their journey, the audi- ence realizes that what they were looking for was in fact a part of them all along. The Wiz is offered for six public shows this year, and continues this weekend, with shows Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m. For tickets and more info, visit www.crowkids.com or call the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St, at 541- 997-1994.
