Annual art ‘Extravaganza’ to be held at Silver Lining
Everyone is invited and
encouraged to come to the
9th Annual Janey DiMuro
and Rhonda Butler Christ-
mas Holiday Extrava-ganza,
which will be a champagne
and treats art reception at
Silver Lining Boutique on
Saturday, Dec. 8, between 3
and 5 p.m.
“We want to ring in the
holidays with kindness to-
wards others, health and
happiness for all while filling
people’s eyes with beautiful
local artistic creations,” said
Silver Lining owner Kimber-
ly Fleenor. “This cornucopia
of creativity by these fasci-
nating Florence artists will
not only delight the eyes but
possibly inspire hidden ter-
rific talents inside others in
this amazing town.”
DiMuro is known for a
variety of artistic endeavors
and will have a new array of
her well-known handmade
pillows of exquis-ite fabrics
from around the world. Her
trademark intricate stitch-
ing and attention to de-
tail sets the cozy cushions
apart from the rest. Each is
one-of-a- kind and extraor-
dinarily handcrafted, said
Fleenor.
DiMuro is also well known
for her topical current events
collages that inspire and
evoke conversations. “We
always have a crowd that en-
gages in comments, laughter,
tears and solutions,” Fleenor
said. “There is never a dull
moment when this reception
is in full gear.”
Butler is also well known
for her continuous contribu-
tions and participation with
Florence Food Share. In ad-
dition, her woodworks are
unique in scope, style and
sophistication, with a variety
of woods collected from her
own property and chiseled,
poked, proded, carved, sand-
ed, glazed, oiled and mount-
ed for the maximum display
factor.
“Many of us are guilty of
continually walking by many
woods without realizing their
innate and extreme beauty,
colors and intricate grains
that are inherent to their na-
ture,” said Fleenor. “Rhonda
has the complex abilities to
bring out the various beau-
ties that Mother Nature has
provided them with — but
which we seldom notice.
Rhonda capitalizes each kind
of wood’s unique qualities to
create incredible art.”
Butler uses wood combi-
nations to create sculptures,
sushi boards, bowls, collages
and completely natural com-
positions.
The Christmas Holiday
Champagne Extravaganza
will take place during De-
cember’s Second Saturday
Artwalk.
“I guarantee anyone who
attends will be amazed, in-
spired and filled with won-
derment while surrounded
by good friends and great
holiday cheer,” Fleenor said.

Festival of Trees will take
place Saturday, Nov. 24, from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., sponsored
by the Oregon Coast Mili-
tary Museum and held at the
Florence Events Center.
