Words can’t begin to describe her kind- ness, great intelligence and wit. An avid reader, queen of the cross- word, she could cut Barbara Tait through ba- loney with the raise of an eyebrow. We love you to the moon and back; we love you to pieces; we love you more; we love you now and for- ever. Barbara was born in Dillon, Mont., on Jan. 25, 1926, and grew up in Beaverhead County, Mont. She attended St. James School of Nursing in Butte Montana and served as a Nurse Cadet during WWII. On Oct. 7, 1947, she mar- ried long-time sweetheart Alan D. Tait in Dillon. Al and Barb traveled the U.S. during the course of his military service in the Navy. Their 5 children were born in Rhode Island, Fla., Ha- waii and California. The family lived in Califor- nia after Al ended active duty. In 1980, Al and Barb settled in Florence, where they built their own home with a stunning view of the Oregon coast. They also maintained a small home in Montana. Barb and Al traveled extensively visiting China, Europe, Scandinavia and South America. Barbara served as secretary of the local NARFE chapter, and was a Whale Watch Guide for OSU Extension Services. She used her nursing experi- ence for decades of volunteer work with Peace Harbor Hos- pital and the Oncology Clinic in Florence. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and broth- er, Harry S. and Nonie K Tash and Harry Tash Jr.; daughter- in-law Sarah Tait; and daughter Jennifer Lee Brady. She is survived by her hus- band of 70 years, Alan D. Tait; brother and sister-in-law, Wil- liam and Marlene Tash; nu- merous nieces and nephews; four children, two sons-in-law, 11 grandchildren, two grand- children-in-law and two great- grandchildren: George Tait and children Susan and Larry; Jean Atalla and children Jessica and Andrew; Janet and Dave Moul- ton and their children: Melody, Sam and Eli, plus wife Kati Tex- as and baby Hamilton; Kath- lyn and Jim Powers and their children: Robert and Alex, plus wife Sara; Nicole Young, Katie Ann Young and baby Gannon. The family extends its grat- itude to Peace Harbor Clinic, Hospital, Home Health and Hospice teams, as well as the staff and residents of Shore- wood Senior Living, for the care and friendship they have given to our parents over the years. Natalie graduated from Shel- don High School in Eugene in Natalie 1998. Na- Sommer- talie was felt-Dozier full of life and was loved by many. She found friends every- where she went and had a contagious laugh that would brighten your day. She loved camping, karaoke and shopping. The 10-week program offers hands- on training and mentorship to entrepreneurs and business owners in and around Florence. The Coastal Pre-Accelerator is designed to teach entrepre- neurs how to acquire more cus- tomers, develop a sales strategy, secure capital, find a mentor and more. The Coastal Pre-Accelerator runs from Oct. 17 to Dec. 19. The cohort will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday at Or- egon Pacific Bank in Florence, 1355 Highway 101, for meet- ings with RAIN’s Venture Cat- alyst David Youngentob, expert speakers, mentors and peers. Drop-in guests will be wel- come to listen to the guest speakers, with enrolled found- ers/companies staying for pri- vate mentoring. There is no cost to participate in the Coastal Pre-Accelerator.
