Yachats Arts Guild to host
annual Fall Show
The Yachats Arts Guild will
be holding its 11th annual Fall
Show this Labor Day Week-
end, Saturday, Sept. 1, through
Monday, Sept. 3, at the Yachats
Commons, 441 Highway 101
in Yachats.
This year’s event will feature
new guild member Amy An-
derson, along with seven oth-
er members including Linda
Nordin and Carol Summers.
Anderson has been teach-
ing acrylic ink on tile work-
shops throughout the month
of August.
The show will feature oil,
acrylic, watercolor, jewelry,
tiles, heat resistant cutting
boards, original art plus prints
and cards.
The show will be located
in Room 8 at the commons,
which will be open for view-
ing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
throughout the weekend.

Yachats Ladies Club to offer pie, ice cream at 18th annual social this weekend
Homemade pie will be
celebrated for the last time
of the 2018 summer season
during the Yachats Ladies
Club 18th Annual Labor Day
Weekend Pie Social on Satur-
day, Sept. 1.
The social will be at the
Yachats Ladies Clubhouse,
286 West Third St., at the
corner of Pontiac Street in
Yachats.
The pie will be served from
11 a.m. until the pie is gone.
Come early for best selec-
tion.
The famous Yachats La-
dies Club pie bakers will
have huge variety of fruit
and cream pies featured at this
event. The wide selection in-
cludes varieties of apple, cherry,
rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb,
assorted berry, assorted cream
pies, lemon meringue, sour
cream cherry, chocolate truffle,
pumpkin, key lime and some

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 pounds Salmon Fillet
Lemon Pepper to taste
Garlic Powder to taste
Salt to taste
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Preparation:
Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic
powder, and salt.
In small bowl, stir together soy sauce, brown sugar,
water and vegetable oil until sugar is dissolved.
Place salmon in a large resealable plastic bag with
soy sauce mixture. Seal the bag and turn to make
sure fish is coated.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Cook:
Preheat grill to medium heat.
Lightly oil grill grate. Place salmon on the preheated
grill, discard marinade. Cook salmon for 6-8 minutes
per side or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
