Lane County Circuit
Court, which is housed in
the county’s courthouse
in Eugene and operated by
the
Oregon
Judicial
Department, hears cases no
matter the subject, serious-
ness or severity of the
alleged crime or the amount
of money involved in the
case.
Lane County Justice
Court, located in Florence,
is responsible for the adju-
dication of violations and
misdemeanors filed as vio-
lations
of
traffic,
truck-overload, truancy,
civil complaints, Lane
County Code violations
(such as animal regulation,
parks, Lane ESD and waste
management complaints)
and related post-adjudica-
tive processes.
Lane County Sheriff ’s
Office correctional services
include a jail that houses
256 local offenders, a
39-bed
Community
Corrections Center (work
release) and out-of-custody
programs
such
as
Community Service and
Sheriff ’s Work Crew.

Lane County Parks
includes more than 70 rec-
reational sites within 4,600
acres of land. There is lake
access at 11 sites, river
access at 38 sites and beach
access at three locations.
The county maintains five
developed swim areas, 24
boat ramps, 400 moorage
slips at three locations, 15
reservable picnic sites at
five locations and 216
campsites at four locations.
Note that a fee is charged
at many noncity parks, pic-
nic and day-use areas; a
parking fee, for example, is
required year-round at all
Lane County parks.
Park passes can be pur-
chased at the main office,
3050 N. Delta Highway, in
Eugene, from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m., Monday through
Friday. Call 541-682-2000
for more information. Local
vendors also sell passes.
Disabled veteran passes
are available at a discount.
Lane County Parks is
developing a comprehen-
sive park and open space
system. Give your input on

Lane Transit District
operates 25 Park and Ride
locations throughout the
county along major bus
routes, and many locations
are served by express or
direct bus service to limit
travel time.

Rhody Express, a com-
munity transit service in
Florence, operates Monday
through Friday from 10 a.m.
to 6 p.m., and provides
transportation
around
town.
Fares are $1 for one way
or $2 for all day. Books of
20 tickets for $20 are avail-
able at the Rhody Express
office at 1699 Pine St. in
Florence.
The vehicle is wheelchair
accessible and includes
space for bicycles.

The Lane County Women, Infants
and Children (WIC) public health nutri-
tion program is designed to promote
lifetime nutrition and healthy behaviors
in a targeted, at-risk popu-
lation. The Eugene WIC
office serves all of Lane
County.
WIC is a special supple-
mental food and nutrition
education program for preg-
nant and nursing women,
infants and children. Lane
County WIC provides
monthly food vouchers,
among other services.
During the summer, WIC families also
may receive coupons to purchase fresh
Oregon-grown fruits, vegetables and
herbs, along with information on how to
prepare healthy meals.

WIC services can contact

4202.

Eugene, and is open Monday
from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and
