RESOLUTION PC 18 19 EAP 02 – FAHS Storage Con-
tainer Extension: A request for an extension of a previ-
ously granted approval period, which will end July 14, 2018
for Resolution PC 15 12 CUP 07 – FAHS Thrift Store Storage
Container - a request for a conditional use permit to place a
temporary metal storage container to serve as a temporary
mobile building space for storage for the Florence Area Hu-
mane Society. The site is located at 1193 Bay Street, Asses-
sor’s Map 18-12-34-12, Tax Lot 06900, 07000, & 07100 in the
Old Town/Area A District regulated by FCC Title 10 Chapter

RESOLUTION PC 18 20 VAR 01 – Ames Setback Vari-

On July 16, 2018, the City of Florence City Council will
review and consider two ordinances concerning the follow-
ing…
Ordinance No. 10, Series 2018 – An Ordinance amend-
ing the Florence Realization 2020 Comprehensive Plan,
Chapter 9: Economic Development and Chapter 10: Hous-
ing Opportunities, to address housing and economic devel-
opment, address current trends, and strengthen the local
economy.
Ordinance No. 11, Series 2018 – An Ordinance amend-
ing the Florence Realization 2020 Comprehensive Plan,
Chapters 7: Development Hazards and Constraints, 11: Utili-
ties, Facilities and Services, 12: Transportation, and 14: Ur-
banization, to address Tsunami threats and development
patterns within areas subject to these natural hazards. These
proposed changes are implementations of model policies
from the Department of Land Conservation and Develop-
ment.

REQUEST FOR COMMENT
The City of Florence is requesting to close Bay Street
from just east of the Siuslaw River Bridge to Laurel Street
in Old Town for the “Florence 125th Anniversary Celebra-
tion” to be held on Friday, July 27, 2018. The Council will take
public comment at its meeting beginning at 5:30 pm on
July 16, 2018 at the Florence Events Center located at 715
Quince Street.
The 125th Anniversary celebration is planned to con-
sist of a block party event that may utilize Bay Street for
pedestrian traffi c, musical entertainment and other ameni-
ties to honor the anniversary. The City Council will consider
whether the application meets the criteria outlined in Flor-
ence City Code 7-5-1-1. If you wish to submit comments by
writing prior to the Council’s meeting on July 27th, you may
submit them to City Recorder, 250 Highway, Florence, OR

in the Lane County Circuit Court no later than 5:00 p.m., July

NOTICE OF DISTRICT MEASURE ELECTION
Notice is hereby given on July 3, 2018 that a measure
election will be held in the Siuslaw School District located
in Lane County, Oregon, on November 6, 2018. The following
shall be the ballot title of the measure to be submitted to
the district’s voters:
Caption: Bonds to Construct and Upgrade School Fa-
cilities, Improve Safety
Question: Shall Siuslaw School District issue
$108,700,000 general obligation bonds to construct, ex-
pand and remodel facilities, improve safety, and enhance
curriculum? If the bonds are approved, they will be payable
from taxes on property or property ownership that are not
subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the
Oregon Constitution.
Summary: If approved, bonds are expected to fund:
• New Replacement High School, including improved ca-
reer and technical education instructional spaces
• Middle School Building improvements
• South End Elementary building replacement
• Elementary pick up/drop off improvements (including
new bus loop)
• North End Elementary seismic improvements
• North End Elementary facility upgrade
• Middle School physical education fi eld
• Technology, Safety and Security upgrades
• Site improvements, demolition, furnishing and equip-
ment, district bond project management and support ser-
vices, and fees associated with bond issuance
Bonds would mature in not to exceed 31 years from issu-
ance. The estimated tax rate is $2.72 per $1,000 of assessed
property value. Actual levy rate may differ due to changes in
interest rates and/or assessed value.
