Honeyman State Park will host a family fishing event at Cleawox Lake. on Saturday, June 9. The event is sponsored by Oregon State Parks, U.S. Forest Service, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the Florence Salmon Trout Enhancement Program (STEP). There will be several fun events for the whole family, as well as loaner fishing poles with free bait, fish print T shirts for kids to create, and a hot dog lunch provided by the U.S. Forest Service. No fishing license will be required, and State Parks will waive the parking fee during the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. STEP volunteers will help teach the use of the fishing poles and assist with the trout fishing. The meeting will be on the second floor of the Siuslaw Valley Fire & Rescue building, 2625 Highway 101, in Florence. The public is invited to attend. The agenda will include an introduction of three new ATV committee members, as well as diis- cussions on the ATV Grant processes, budget- ting for the next bienni- um, and provide updates on recently passed ATV legislation (SB344). No grant applications will be reviewed at the meeting. New member orienta- tion will be from 8 to 9 a.m. The ATV Grant Program provides funding statewide for off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation.
