High schoolers interested in playing

have an opportunity to meet new

Monday, June 18.
Weight training sessions will be held
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays, along with an
evening work-out from 6 p.m. to 8
p.m.
In addition, a mini-camp is being
set for July, along with the annual
youth camp in August before the offi-
cial first day of practice on Aug. 13.
The first game of the season will be
held Friday, Aug. 31, when Siuslaw
hosts Elmira at 7 p.m.

After approval of Cascade's appeal
to remain in Class 4A has had little
effect on Siuslaw's schedule, aside from
the addition of a jamboree Aug. 24.
This will be the first season under
new coach Chad Smith, who has
coached at Seaside and La Grande
high schools. Coaches Tom Shinn and
Gerry Fleming will be returning to the
football staff in the fall.
