Book sale this weekend
at Siuslaw Public Library
The Friends of the Siuslaw
Public Library will be hosting a
book sale Saturday, June 2, and
Sunday, June 3, from 10 a.m.
until 4 p.m. each day.
Friends of the Library mem-
bers are invited to a pre-sale
on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
Membership applications will
be available at the sale.
Hardcover books and trade
Boardwalk open for business
paperbacks will be priced at $1
each, with pocket paperbacks
priced at only .50 cents each.
DVDs and CDs will also be
available at $1 and audiobooks
will be priced at $2 each, with
hours and hours of listening en-
joyment in each one.
All proceeds from the book
sale benefit the Siuslaw Public
Library.

The Port of Siuslaw’s Boardwalk Market opened for the season this past weekend. Vendors will be offering all
types of items, from local artists and craftspeople, throughout the summer. The market is open on Saturdays and
Sundays, from 10 .m. to 5 p.m. Individual’s interested in selling at the market can contact the Port of Siuslaw at

36th annual Elliott Bass Tournament June 2-3

The Florence Siuslaw Lions
Club will be hosting its 36th
annual Elliott Fun Bass Tourna-
ment the weekend of June 2 and
3 at Darlings Resort on Siltcoos
Lake.
After the 2 p.m. weigh-in on
Saturday, there will be a raffle
for items donated by local mer-
chants. Tickets are available for
$1 each, or six tickets for $5.
All of the proceeds go to fund
high school scholarship program.
The tournament is named in
memory of long-time Lions Club
member George Elliott who,
with his family, originated the
fundraiser as a joint venture with
the past Florence Bass Club.

in a community setting. It is an
open tournament, so anyone can
participate.
Two-person teams will launch
at 6 a.m. with fish weigh-ins at 2
p.m. both days.
All fish are released back into
the lake.
Trophies will be presented af-
ter Sunday’s weigh-in.
During the two-day tourna-
ment, the Lions Club will be
serving hamburgers and hot dogs
from its food wagon. All food
wagon proceeds also go to fund
Lions programs.
Darling's resort is on the north
end of Siltcoos Lake which blocks
it from the summer winds.
