Rhody Days Arts Festival Florence Elks host Rhody Days activities

the Florence Regional Arts Al-
liance (FRAA), the 2018 Rhody
Days Arts Festival will be held
at the Florence Events Center,
715 Quince St., during Rhody
Days on Friday, May 18, from
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday,
May 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the tradition of the arts
festival, visitors will experience
and delight in unique artistry
and have a chance to meet the
artists who have craft ed these
works of art. Just some of the
types of artistry include: wood
turning, fused glass, stained
glass, bead weaving, photogra-
phy, metal work, garden décor,
intarsia, fractal art, pine needle
baskets, fi ber arts and linens,
wearable fabric art, knitted and
crocheted accessories, scroll
saw wood art, raku ceramics,
obsidian knives, rocktography,
hand painted pottery, water-
colors, pyrography, lampwork
beads and a variety of unique
jewelry treasures that will be
sure to tempt you.
Th e show’s artists will be do-
nating 10 percent of their sales
to support the FRAA Arts Cen-
ter at 120 Maple St. in Historic
Old Town Florence.
So bring a friend, shop for
some unique treasures and
support the arts.
Admission is FREE.
and the Ladies of Elks. All activities
will take place at the Florence Elks
Lodge #1858, 1686 12th St. On Satur-
day, there is the Pie & Bake Sale and
the BBQ Chicken Dinner. On Sunday,
there will be a breakfast and a BBQ
Chicken Dinner. On both Saturday
and Sunday, there will be a special treat
of ice cream sundaes.
ELKS SHARE SHOP: Our Share
Shop/Th rift Store will be open every
day during Rhody Days. Come in and
check out the bargains. All clothing is
$1 each and books are $.50 to $1.
PIE AND BAKE SALE: Th e Ladies
of Elks have expanded their Pie Sale to
include baked goods like cookies, bars,
cupcakes and much more. It will begin
on Saturday, May 19th, promptly at 11
a.m. sharp – once the goodies are gone,
they’re gone! Follow the signs to get to
the entrance.
Saturday at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. or until
they’re sold out. Th e meals are scrump-
tious: a half chicken with potato salad
and baked beans. Th is takes place on
the south side of the Elks Lodge – just
follow your nose
SUNDAY BREAKFAST: On Sunday,
Parade Day, start your day at the Past
Exalted Rulers Breakfast from 7 to 11
a.m.
Th e BBQ Chicken Dinners on Sun-
day go on sale at 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. or
until they’re sold out. Th e Elks advise
that people pick up a lunch here and
take it to watch the parade on the route.
And those ice cream sundaes are
available both days.
Again, all activities will be held at the
Florence Elks Lodge and all proceeds
go to charities. We’ll see you there all
weekend long — having fun and sup-
porting the Florence community.
