Explosive
history
The Beatles return May 5 at
Florence Events Center. That’s
right — The Beatles are back
together. Never mind that two
of their members are no longer
alive. The Reunion Beatles -
Fantasy Tribute is the rock and
roll reunion of all time: the con-
cert that never was. In this
show, John, Paul, George &
Ringo are back together and
celebrating with a concert that
features their most memorable
songs and solo hits.
Similar to the hit Broadway
musical “Jersey Boys,” The
Reunion Beatles - Fantasy
Tribute weaves a story into a
90-minute performance. In the
story, all of the Beatles mem-
bers are alive and have decided
to get back together again.
Their reunion includes the
beloved songs “My Sweet
Lord,” “A Hard Day’s Night,”
“Hey Jude,” “Revolution,”
“Strawberry Fields Forever,”
“Live & Let Die,” “Yesterday,”
“I Want To Hold Your Hand,”
“All You Need Is Love” and
many more.
Formed in the San Francisco
Bay Area in 2010 by Got Live
Entertainment, The Reunion
Beatles have performed for
delighted audiences of all ages
around the world and have
received critical acclaim for
their musicianship and ability
to “channel” the four individu-
als who made a massive impact
in the 60’s and ever since.
Got Live’s President, Wayne
Coy, believes that the concept
was long overdue.
“I got tired of seeing the
same old same old with tribute
shows,” Coy said. “They’re
good, but there’s a million of
them.”
He continued, “As a huge
Beatles fan myself, I felt there
had to be another way to pay
tribute to them. This show is
decidedly different. Yes, John
and George have passed on.
But, what if they hadn’t? Would
the Beatles have gotten back
together again? And if they did,
what would that concert have
been like? This production
answers that question. It is the
concert we believe they would
have done, filled with stories,
laughter and of course, those
incredible, timeless songs that
are so well loved.”
The show includes perform-
ers who have perfected the
impersonations of the individu-
als they represent, including
Nick Bold in the role of George
Harrison.
“We put you into a dream
world,” Bold said. “What a fan-
tastic thing it would be if it
were true, so suspend your
belief for a few hours. We hope
we can make that happen.”
The Reunion Beatles -
Fantasy Tribute will be in
Florence on Saturday, May 5, at
7 p.m. at the Florence Events
Center, 715 Quince St. Tickets

History was brought to vivid life last week as students from
Siuslaw Middle School last week as Civil War reenactors and his-
torians from across the state brought muskets, cannons and
knowledge to the students who learned how to march in for-
mation, use artillery and learn what it was like to fight in
America’s redefining conflict.
“I think it went really well,” said Social Studies Teacher Heather
Wiggins, who helped organize the annual event. “It was more
hands on than it was in the past. We even got to eat black pow-
der. I tried it, and it was extremely bitter.”

Backstreet Gallery is accept-
ing applications for the public
to submit artwork for The Bots
and Beguiling Beings Show.
The art pieces may be of any
medium. You can pick up
applications at the gallery,
which will have all the rules
and specifics. The due date for
applications is May 15.
Pamela Vosseller will jury
the ‘Bots and Beguiling Beings
Show that will be displayed at
Backstreet Gallery for the
month of June. Vosseller, a
nationally known artist, with
honors received from the
Eugene Mayor’s Art Show and

Coos Bay Museum, is a pub-
lished artist in both the Denali
Literary Arts Magazine and
Cloth
Paper
Scissors
Magazine. Her work has been
shown in the Florence Events
Center(FEC) and various ven-
ues around Florence.
She won awards in the
Celebrate Arts Show at the
FEC.
Much of her work has been
in watercolors and acrylics
including
mixed
media.
Pamela loves to enhance her art
with collage, charcoal, graphite
and fibers.
While she has painted many
subjects, her concentration is
the human form and portrai-
ture. Her signature painting
style makes her uniquely quali-
fied to jury this show, as her
images are truly magical and
beguiling.
“My passion is to learn, and
I continue to study acrylics,
oils, charcoals and encaustics,”
Vosseler said.
In her paintings, Pamela
offers a visual story. This
shouldn’t be a surprise since
she is the writer of many
intriguing short stories, as well.
Because she believes that all
of us can create, she is now
teaching online e-courses.
