Mo’s hosts Fish Fry
Fundraiser on Feb. 20
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, begin-
ning at 5:30 p.m., Mo’s
Restaurant in Historic Old
Town Florence is hosting an
all-you-can-eat
fish
fry
fundraiser
for
Project
Graduation.
Mo’s will be serving cod
fish and chips, Texas toast,
soda and cobbler, and chicken
strips can be substituted for
fish.
Tickets are $12.50 for adults
and $6 for kids under 12.
Students from the senior
class will be the Fish Fry’s
servers and they will be raf-
fling off prizes as well.
Mo’s generously hosts this
event each year to help raise
money for Project Graduation,
which is an all-night drug- and
alcohol-free celebration for
Siuslaw graduating seniors.
Come for this community
event and support the Siuslaw
senior Vikings.
Scholarships still available for
STEMsational Science classes
Students in grades one to
eight are invited to sign up for
Shoreline Christian School’s
STEMsational Science — an
eight-week hands-on, brain-
teasing class to challenge
every budding scientist.
The enrollment deadline has
been extended to Monday,
Feb. 19, and five scholarships
have been provided for stu-
dents by a local retired soft-
ware developer who is a long-
time proponent of STEM
Science,
Technology,
Engineering
and
Math.
Students yet to enroll have
only missed one session on
tower building.
“This is a great opportunity
for kids to hone their 21st cen-
tury interactive, problem-solv-
ing skills,” says Karen Nelson,
the instructor at Shoreline
Christian School in Florence
who is hosting the series.
Interested parents of stu-
dents need to call the school
and complete an application
prior to enrollment.
The class meets from 1 to
2:30
p.m.

and May 2.
Siuslaw Senior Night recognizes Pep Band musicians

of local people for the last home night of the 2017-18 season,” said Siuslaw band volunteer Rachel Pearson. “All
the Siuslaw seats were full and the crowd, the band and the cheerleaders were loud — and proud.” The Pep
Band’s next performance will be on Monday, March 5, at the All Bands Concert under the direction of Chris
Rowbotham. The concert is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m.
at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince St. in Florence.
