iuslaw’s bowling teams wrapped
up their regular season over the
weekend after competing in the
district tournament at Firs Bowl in
Eugene on Sunday.
For the Lady Vikings, it it was a
continuation of strong momentum
established — and maintained — all
season by going undefeated in tourna-
ment competition.
“From the start, the Lady Vikings let
the rest of the field know they were
there to win,” said Dusty Anderson,
coach and program coordinator.
After 20 games of qualifying com-
petition, the Lady Vikings led the field
by more than 400 pins. Leading the
way were district all-stars Abby
Coday, Faith Coday, Maxine Jones and
Elissa Hurley.
After qualifying, the Lady Vikings
went into the semi-finals round of 10
games, where the scores start at zero.
“The girls definitely had a confi-
dence about them,” Anderson said.
After semifinals, the field was cut to
the top three teams for the step-ladder

The biggest lead in Friday’s basketball battle
between the Vikings and Lancers was 4 points, and it
was a lead that each team held at one point during the
near four-quarter stalemate.
Though Siuslaw was the first to score, on a
freethrow from senior Kyle King, it didn’t come until
nearly 3 minutes into the game — and it didn’t last
long. The Lancers answered quickly, taking a 3-1 lead
and maintaining the lead until the final 30 seconds,
when a pass from junior Dylan Wynn to King tied
things up at 10-10. The Lancers managed the final
