ome one, come all to the Black
and White Ball! Nonprofi t Chil-
dren’s Repertory of Oregon Work-
shops’ (CROW) February fundraiser
will once again be the talk of the
town, as attendees sport their fi nest
black and white attire, and can pur-
chase handmade masquerade masks,
created by a variety of local artists.
Th ere will be live music by Th e Pop Rocks of Eu-
gene, a wine spin to win, dessert dash and a silent
auction. Two beer or wine tickets and hot appetizers
are included with each ticket.
You’d better mark your calendar now and plan to
have a “ball” with us!
Proceeds support kids in the arts, so what could
be better?
Th e fundraiser will be held on Satur-
day, Feb. 17, at the Th ree Rivers Ca-
sino Resort Showroom, 5647 High-
way 126 in Florence, at 6:30 p.m.
CROW is seeking artists to paint/
decorate masquerade masks for
this exciting. Donated masks will be
sold at the organization’s “2018 Black
and White Ball,” and all funds will sup-
port youth scholarships, arts programming,
educational materials and other vital expenses for
CROW.
Paper pulp mask bases will be provided, but art-
ists may use whatever base they wish, and whatever
medium they wish.
Masks must be all black or white, with only silver
or gold for accents.
CROW Artistic Director Melanie Heard
encourages artists to “Be creative, be
whimsical, be wild and have lots of
fun!”
Artists will receive recognition at
the event, and a discounted event
ticket price for themselves and a
guest.
All masks must be completed and re-
turned by Jan. 30. Earlier submissions are
appreciated.

Guitar ensemble comes to Bandon Showcase
W
elcome the Montreal Guitare Trio to
the Oregon coast on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at
Bandon Showcase, located at Sprague Com-
munity Theater, 1202 11th St. SW.
Described by the CBC as the “hottest”
guitar ensemble in Canada, MG3 has quickly
established itself as a force to be reckoned
with, as well as an interactive force in various
musical forms.
For over 18 years, the trio’s virtuosity,
rigour, creativity and impressive stage pres-
ence have been winning over audiences
around the world.
The trio, composed of guitarists Marc
Morin, Glenn Lévesque and Sébastien Du-
four, has given hundreds of concerts in some
of the most prestigious venues across North
America, Europe, New Zealand and Austra-
lia, including the legendary Concertgebouw
in Amsterdam and the BB King Blues Club in
New York City.
In Bandon, tickets to see the trio are $25, or
$125 for season tickets to the Bandon Show-
case.
