The Lady Vikings picked up their
second-straight win Tuesday night in
a rout over the visiting Lady Braves of
Reedsport.
Senior point guard Carreina
Greenburg and freshman Brea
Blankenship each scored in double
digits, with Greenburg posting a
game-high 14 points, and Blankenship
claiming 11 points for Siuslaw.
Key to the Lady Viks’ scoring
machine were junior post Alyssa
Richards, who nabbed 10 rebounds
and accounted for 3 blocked shots,
and senior post Marika White with 9
boards and a pair of blocked shots.
Richards also chipped in 6 points,
along with 6 points each from sopho-
more guard Mia Collins and freshman
post Gracie Freudenthal.
Coming into the game, Reedsport
had only claimed two wins in the pre-
season, both of them against
Mapleton. Siuslaw handed the Lady
Braves their seventh loss.
The Lady Viks will take a break
before returning to the hardwood on
Friday, Dec. 29, to host a re-match
with Corbet, beginning at 4 p.m.

The Vikings were back on the hard-
wood at Glenn Butler Court Tuesday
night for the second time in as many
days, taking on Reedsport for a fast-
paced nailbiter.
After exchanging baskets for the first
several minutes in the opening quarter,
the Braves took the lead on a series of
3-pointers and several turnovers, capi-
talizing on a larger bench to keep up the
pace and pressure.
But shooting and rebounding from
seniors John Rollin, Kyle King, Jared
Brandt and Dylan McGallian, along
with junior Dylan Wynn, led Siuslaw to
rally in the second half. Taking the lead
in the final minute on freethrows, The
Vikings edged into a 5-point advantage
in the final seconds for the win.
Siuslaw returns to the court on
Friday, Dec. 29, to host Corbet.

the freethrow line, and just as many
from beyond the arc. Freshman Emily
Stevens was the first to score for
Mapleton, sinking a foul shot that
became the team’s only bucket in the
first quarter.
Trailing 1-12 to enter the second
period, Mapleton’s deficit grew to 1-23
before a long 3-pointer by junior Erin
Michael lit up the Lady Sailors’ side of
the scoreboard with 2:58 remaining
before halftime.
