The
Oregon
Coast
Military Museum will be
offering a six-part series in
conjunction with Lane
Community
College’s
Continuing Education pro-
gram winter term.
The classes will focus on
the impacts of military her-
itage in Oregon, beginning
with the Civil War and con-
tinuing through the current
conflicts and “War on
Terrorism.”
Some sessions will fea-
ture guest speakers.
Sessions will include: the
heritage of the United
States’ military branches;
Oregon’s military involve-
ment prior to statehood and
in the Civil War, the Indian
Wars and World War I,
including the Bonus War;
General synopsis of World
War II and Oregon’s
involvement during the war;
the Cold War; Vietnam War
and other conflicts up until
1980; and modern conflicts
from 1980 to present.
The classes will be held in
the museum’s theater and
seating is limited.
Classes will be held
Wednesday evenings from
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. through
January, February and
March of 2018.
