Youth and families are invited that day to the Florence branch, 1460 Ninth
St., to decorate and bring home a unique cookie-and-candy sculpture.
COASTAL COMMUNITY
CROW DANCE TEAM TAKES F LIGHT
“C
ROW is exceptionally
proud of its 2017-18
inaugural Flight Dance Team,”
said CROW Artistic Director
Melanie Heard. “It’s time to al-
low our young dancers to take
fl ight.”
Flight was created in 2017 as
a way for young dancers of the
Oregon coast to improve tech-
nique, expression and precision
in a fun and supportive atmo-
sphere.
Th e 11 Flight dance team
members had to pass a rigorous
audition, and received a person-
alized Flight Jacket upon accep-
tance into the team.
Flight’s ultimate goals include
local and regional performances,
competitive dance and provid-
ing the community with enter-
taining and thought provoking
works of art, through the power
of movement. Th ey will debut
in the 2017 Holly Jolly Follies at
the Florence Events Center this
weekend, Dec. 1 to 3.
If local students are inter-
ested in becoming a member of
Flight, there will be open audi-
tions each May for youth ages 10
and up.
