OBITUARIES
DOOLIN—Fred R. Doolin,
82, formerly of Florence, a
beloved husband, father,
grandfather and great-grandfa-
ther passed away from heart
complications in Springfield,
Ore., on Sept. 18, 2017.
Fred was born Aug. 19,
1935, in Los Angeles, Calif.
His family

Calif.,
where he
was a long

resident before moving to
Oregon.
After graduating from col-
lege, Fred chose to devote his
life to law enforcement. He
started his career with the Port
Hueneme, Calif., Police
Department on Jan. 1, 1965,
and retired from the Florence
Police Department in 1997.
Fred was an avid car and
gun collector and enjoyed
spending his spare time bowl-
ing and practicing at the shoot-
ing range.
Fred was preceded in death
by our beloved mother, Mary
Dolores, in 1990.
He is survived by his wife,
Rhoda, and his children with
Mary Dolores: Pamela and
Tamela; grandson Aaron and
great-granddaughter, Reese.
No service is currently
planned.
