‘Pitch Your Passion’ – teach for LCC
H
ave you ever wondered if
you might be qualifi ed to
teach a continuing education
class for Lane Community Col-
lege (LCC)? Th e answer is al-
most certainly YES!
Th ere are diffi cult, technical
requirements to teach LCC’s
credit classes, but the communi-
ty college also off ers a wonder-
ful slate of classes each term that
are aimed at professional devel-
opment, specifi c skills, hobbies
or experiences and oriented to-
ward lifelong learners of every
age. And the great news is that
someone doesn’t have to have
advanced degrees or a lifetime
of experience to teach many of
these courses.
What people do need is a
passion, a sense of how they
might organize a class or series
of classes and just a little bit of
marketing savvy. And if some-
one has the passion, LCC Flor-
ence can even help with the
other elements.
If you have a great idea for a
class that might run in winter
or spring term this year, you’re
invited to drop in on our Pitch
Your Passion event at the LCC
Florence Center, 3149 Oak St.
in Florence, any time between 2
and 4 p.m. on Th ursday, Nov. 9.
LCC Florence staff will be
on hand to help craft your idea
into a winning course proposal
and then — who knows? — you
just might be teaching a college
course sometime soon.
Th e course proposal is avail-
able to download at https://

Join the staff and community
of LCC Florence Nov. 9 and
pitch your passion.
