First place individually went to Daniel Beckstead of Grants Pass in 15:55.7. In the girls’ race, sophomore Hannah Rannow and freshman Brea Blankenship finished two-tenths of a second apart, with Rannow placing 21st in 22:09.6, followed by Blankenship in 22nd at 22:09.8. Sophomore Anne Wartnik was close behind with a time of 22:22.9 to cross the finish 25th overall. Fellow sophomore Chloe Madden placed 38th (22:55.4). Freshman Gracie Freudenthal was fifth on the Lady Viks and 51st overall in 24:24.5, just steps ahead of sophomore Bryn Clement in 52nd place at 24:25.1. Bandon senior Sailor Hutton finished more than a minute ahead of second-place Faith Schultz of Grants Pass (19:30.8) with a time of 18:28.0. Grants Pass won both team divisions on Saturday, leading the boys with a score of 62, and the girls bracket with 42 points. Cleveland was second over- all (62), followed by Roseburg (98), St. Mary’s (134), Marshfield (142) and Siuslaw one point away (143) to round out the top six girls’ teams. In team scoring for the boys, Bandon was second (72), fol- lowed by Cleveland (94), Roseburg (103), Marshfield (109) and Siuslaw (135) among the top six boys teams. The Vikings’ next meet will be this Saturday at the Rock n’ River Invitational at Elijah Bristow Park in Pleasant Hill, beginning at 9:30 a.m. On Saturday, Sept. 30, Siuslaw will host its annual Woahink Invitational, which will be held at Honeyman State Park’s East Woahink Lake area.
